Hans-Joachim Uthke

Hans-Joachim Uthke (born May 23, 1941 in Malbork ([ˈmalbɔrk], German: Marienburg), West Prussia ) is a German graphic artist .

Life

Hans-Joachim Uthke grew up in Northern Germany and studied at the Famous Artist's School with Ben Nicholson . He took drawing lessons from Klaus Spitzer in Düsseldorf and studied etching with Jan Boomers in Solingen , lithography with Vladimír Suchánek in Prague and aluminum graphics with Hans Liess in Haan .

Uthke works as a draftsman and illustrator and creates etchings and lithographs . He writes and illustrates aphorisms . Hans-Joachim Uthke has lived in Hilden in the Mettmann district since 1970 . His studio is in Haan.

Hans-Joachim Uthke is a member of the following clubs and associations: “Our Hilden”, Bergischer Künstlerbund, Slovenian Cultural Association Maribor (Hilden) and Europa-Union Germany (City Association Haan).

From 1987 to 1990 he taught as a guest artist at North Cheshire College , Warrington (UK), workshop “ Etching - Etching Techniques” and from 1994 to 2004 in the international artists' colony “Poaart”, Slovenia .

Hans-Joachim Uthke takes up aphoristic thoughts and translates them into drawings and etchings with irony and a pinch of motherhood. In his pen drawings he depicts everyday impressions, literary influences, humorous features and splinters of thought as a caricature .
