Hans Hessling

Hans Oskar Richard Hessling (born March 22, 1903 in Hamburg ; † February 24, 1995 in Bad Oldesloe ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Hans Hessling was born in Hamburg and first went to sea before starting his theater career at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus in 1927 . He then played at theaters in Leipzig , Zurich and Berlin , and later also in Vienna and Hamburg.

In 1935 he made his film debut in the Gustav Ucicky film Das Mädchen Johanna , and in 1941 he played the leading role in the fairy tale film The Brave Little Tailor . From the 1950s on, Hessling starred in Happy Journey , Alibi , Buddenbrooks and The Last Witness . Hans Hessling could be seen in various television films well into old age, often in leading roles. Hessling also worked as a voice actor. Several times he spoke to the cartoon character Asterix . He also dubbed James Cagney , Charlie Chaplin and Burgess Meredith , as well as Catweazle .

In the 1970s and 1980s , Hessling also worked as a spokesperson for the radio play label Europa . He spoke at Macabros , The three ??? , Hui Buh , in the riddle series , with the Five Friends of Enid Blyton and was the Conseil at Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea .

In his second marriage, Hans Hessling was married to Gerda Czechne. Hans Hessling was buried anonymously in the Protestant cemetery in Ahrensburg .
