Hans Jochen Henke (* 12. July 1945 in Hirsau ) is a German politician of the CDU .

education and profession

After attending the Dillmann Gymnasium in Stuttgart and graduating from the Stuttgart Business School in 1966 , Henke studied law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg . During his studies he became a member of the Tübingen student union Normannia . After the second state examination in 1974, he worked as a lawyer . In 1975 he joined the internal administration of the state of Baden-Württemberg .

Henke has been admitted to the bar again since 1999.

Political activity / public office

From 1976, Henke was the personal advisor to the Baden-Württemberg Interior Ministers Karl Schiess and Lothar Späth . After Späth took office as Prime Minister on August 30, 1978, he became his office manager. From 1984 to 1995 he was Lord Mayor of the City of Ludwigsburg and from October 19, 1994 first chairman of the Stuttgart Region Association elected by the regional assembly . In 1995 he moved to the Federal Ministry of Transport as State Secretary . After the change of government in 1998 he was a member of the German Bundestag for the constituency of Stuttgart I until 2002 . From November 1, 2004 to October 31, 2009 he was Secretary General of the Economic Council of the CDU .

In spring 2015, Henke was elected honorary chairman of the board of trustees of the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival .

Henke is married and has two grown daughters.
