Hans Samuel von Pritz (born January 14, 1698 in Kolberg , † December 8, 1756 in Meißen ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 30 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

Life

His parents were Heinrich von Pritz (* March 23, 1675; † February 8, 1703), Sülz relative to Kolberg, and his wife Maria Friesen. He was young when his parents died. After their death, he was raised by his relatives. Up to the age of 13 he went to the city school in Kolberg, in 1713 he switched to the Latin school . But in 1713 he went to the cadet school in Kolberg, which was moved to Berlin in 1714 . In 1715 he joined the Infantry Regiment "Anhalt-Dessau" No. 3 as a flag junior . During the Pomeranian Campaign in 1715/1716 he fought in the landing on Rügen and in the siege of Stralsund . After the war he was on advertising in Germany , Hungary , Italy and Switzerland . On October 18, 1716 he was promoted to ensign and on January 24, 1720 second lieutenant . Private, it went ahead on 14 August 1724 when he received the Mitbelehnung with the goods Günnow, Rechow and Schwantus in Wollin in Pomerania . In 1725 he became prime lieutenant . On October 31, 1731 he became staff captain and on May 17, 1735 he received the company of captain Staubach. On July 6, 1738 he became a major .

During the First Silesian War in 1741 he was initially in the camp near Brandenburg . After the war the company went back to the quarters. On January 20, 1745 he became a lieutenant colonel and fought at Hohenfriedberg , Thrush and Kesselsdorf . On January 20, 1746 he became a lieutenant colonel when the then Colonel Friedrich Leopold von Schwerin was transferred as major general. On June 4, 1747, the king appointed him colonel and awarded him the Pour le Mérite. When the previous boss Leopold von Anhalt-Dessau died in 1751 , Leopold Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau took over the regiment. Pritz became commander of the regiment and received an allowance of 600 thalers. On August 29, 1756 with the beginning of the Seven Years' War he marched with the regiment to Saxony . Together with Colonel Manstein organized the quarters in Leipzig. In the Battle of Lobositz he fought on the right wing. On October 19, 1756 he was appointed major general and received the “Blankensee” infantry regiment No. 30 . In mid-November he was given the job of pulling a cordon on the Bohemian border. He fell ill during this action and was brought to Meissen. He died there on December 8, 1756 and was buried in the Franciscan Church. He was never married.
