Hans Voss (architect)
Hans Voss (born June 17, 1783 in Eutin , † October 4, 1849 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; full name: Johann Friedrich Boie Voss ) was a German architect and Baden construction clerk , he is considered one of the most talented students of Friedrich Weinbrenner .
Life
Hans Voss was a son of the poet and translator Johann Heinrich Voss and his wife Ernestine, née Boie . His brothers were among others the later professor of philology Heinrich Voss and the philologist and pedagogue Abraham Voss . From 1800 Hans Voss did an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and in 1803 moved with his parents first to Jena , and then from 1804 to 1807 he studied architecture at the building school in Karlsruhe with Friedrich Weinbrenner.
In 1807 he got a job as a construction teacher at the Lyceum in Lahr , in 1814 he was temporarily transferred to the former Baden offices of Lahr and Ettenheim .
In 1820 he was appointed building inspector in Offenburg , in 1832 district master builder in Freiburg and in 1844 building officer.
