Mispelbaum has been working as a freelance artist in the field of drawing since 1974 and has found his own way. He worked with great intensity, preferably with graphite pencils of various hardnesses in large and small formats on paper. Medlar tree creates collages with scissors and knives, cuts figures and parts of figures from drawings. He inserts these into other drawings, processes them further and mixes them with color, which is often gray or black.

At the turn of the century he began to create sculptures out of cardboard and plaster of paris with objects partly incorporated into the plaster.
