Highland is a city in the US state of California . It is located in the southwest of San Bernardino County and has a population of around 53,100. The urban area has a size of 35.7 square kilometers.
Demographics
According to the 2010 census , there were 53,103 people in Highland. Ten years earlier, in 2000, there were still around 44,600, which means that the town's population has increased by more than 8,000 within a decade. Mainly responsible for this increase in the urban population is the heavy immigration of Latinos throughout southern California, who now make up almost half of the total population. While African-Americans and other ethnic groups are minorities, the remaining half of the city's population is made up of non-Latin American whites. The census also found that there were 15,471 households in the city in 2010 and that for every 100 women there were 95.1 men.
