history

On December 13, 2006, the establishment of the university - at that time still under the name "University of Applied Languages" - was approved by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art. The university was established on July 1, 2007 and began teaching in the 2007/2008 winter semester. In January 2020 the name was changed to “International University SDI Munich - University of Applied Sciences”. The university is affiliated with the Languages ​​& Interpreting Institute Munich , which has been a training facility for translators , interpreters , foreign language correspondents and euro correspondents since 1952 . The president is Felix Mayer.

Double degree BA in Translation & State Examination

As part of the double degree, all graduates of the Bavarian Academies for Translation and Interpreting who have successfully completed the state examination can acquire the BA in Translation in 1 to 2 semesters via the so-called "external examination", regardless of the year of graduation at the respective academy.
