history

The place is first mentioned in 1169 as "Mucginrute" when the Heilsbronn monastery acquired goods there. In a papal bull from 1249, in which further acquisitions of the monastery are confirmed, the place is mentioned as "Homrat". The monastery had a total of five properties, all of which were deserted during the Thirty Years' War .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 10 properties in Hohenroth (4 half courtyards, 3 estates, 1 estate, 2 houses). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The Neuhof caste office held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .

As part of the municipal edict, Hohenroth was assigned to the Linden tax district, which was formed in 1811 . It belonged to the rural community Altselingsbach, founded in 1813 . On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , Hohenroth was incorporated into Trautskirchen.
