Schußbach is a district of the community of Trautskirchen in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet with less than a dozen house numbers and several outbuildings is located on the right bank of the Steinbach, which runs south-east and finally flows from the left into the Zenn . This flows here to the northern border along the Hundsgraben and opposite the Riegersbach . The Schußbachwald borders in the east , about 1 km to the northwest the Limbacher tendrils of the larger Steinbach tributary rises above the Wolfsgraben, on which the Lenkersheim community forest stands. Approx. 0.75 km west of the hillside forest grows Kalkgraben on the right Talböschung.

The district road NEA 17 leads along the Steinbach from Jobstgreuth in the Obertal (2.2 km northwest) via Schußbach to Steinbach in the lower valley (1.2 km southeast). Outgoing communal roads lead through the side valley of the Wolfsgraben to Limbach (1.2 km west) and over the Riegersbachmulde to Wilhelmsgreuth (1.5 km north).

history

In 1100 the place was first mentioned by name as "Scuohesbach", when Gozuuinus and his brother gave 14 12 manses within this area to the St. Peter monastery in the suburb of Würzburg . In the 1140s the Heilsbronn monastery acquired goods in Schußbach. In the period that followed, the monastery acquired other goods. Of the five properties, three remained inhabited during the Thirty Years' War . In 1718 Schußbach belonged to the Heilbronn district of Neuhof: it was subordinate to four farms and a shepherd's house, which were inhabited by two subjects and three relatives. 1735 were u. a. The subjects and feudal people of Schußbach were also handed over in exchange to the German Order Coming Virnsberg .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 6 properties in Schußbach (3 courtyards, 2 courtyards, 1 community shepherd's house). The high court exercised the Obervogteiamt Virnsberg of the Teutonic Order . The Teutonic Order of Nuremberg held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .

As part of the community edict, Schußbach was assigned to the Buch tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Buch formed in 1811 . On July 1, 1972, Schußbach was incorporated into Trautskirchen as part of the regional reform .

The place has remained predominantly Catholic even after the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Laurentius (Trautskirchen) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish after Assumption of Mary (Sondernohe) .
