The Honda CB Sevenfifty is a naked bike with a retro design from the 1970s from the Japanese vehicle manufacturer Honda .

history

The history of the Sevenfifty began in 1983 with the model CB 750 Nighthawk (CB 750 SC) in the USA, which had 16 valves and 77 hp. In the 1990s, the demand for classic four-cylinder engines in the USA was so great that Honda launched the Nighthawk S (RC 20) with a four-cylinder CBX 750 that was reduced to 700 cm³ due to the increased import duty . Another Nighthawk model was the CBX 650 E in 1983 . The designation in the USA is CB 650 SC Nighthawk. This differs from the European version CBX 650 E in some components. E.g. handlebars, footrests, exhaust silencer, tank. This makes the 650 Nighthawk look even more like a soft chopper. The type designation is in both cases: RC 13.

In January 1992 the motorcycle came onto the German market with some changes and under the name CB Sevenfifty as a direct competitor to the successful Kawasaki Zephyr . The publication date in Austria was March 1992.

The CB Sevenfifty was produced almost unchanged over the rest of the construction period. The most noticeable adjustments were made with the 1996 model year. The engine block, which was previously completely painted in silver, as well as the rims and indicators are now painted black.

The CB Sevenfifty has not been delivered in Germany since 2003, but continues to be produced in Japan for the Asian market. The engine has an output of 75 HP and visual changes have been made. New for 2007 was the multi-color paintwork in the style of the 1982 CB 900 F Bol d´Or , clear glass headlights, new chrome indicators and modified round instruments.

technology

When CB Seven Fifty is a conceptual successor to the series CB 750 Four , although the engine on the completely redesigned engine of CBX 750 F is based. The four-stroke in- line engine has four cylinders with four valves each and two overhead camshafts . The valves are controlled via hydraulic valve lifters, which means that there is no need to readjust the valve clearance. The silver (or from 1996 black) painted rims are made of cast aluminum , have six spokes and a diameter of 43.2 cm (17 inches). The front suspension consists of a motorcycle fork with a diameter of 41 mm and a spring travel of 130 mm. The rear suspension has two struts with a travel of 110 mm. The fuel is prepared using four constant pressure carburettors with a diameter of 34 mm.
