Until 2003 there were the variants Shadow VT 125 C (model JC 29) and Shadow VT 125 C2 (model JC31) in the colors black metallic or red metallic. From 2004 to 2006 there was only the C2 variant with an optional two-tone paintwork. Since 2007 this model has only been available in the colors Spangle Silver Metallic and Black Metallic .

Due to its quite wide tank and thick chrome-plated exhaust, only the experienced biker can usually tell that it is a 125cc.

The V-2 engine of the VT125 to 2006 is identical with that of the Honda Varadero 125 and provides 11 kW (15 HP) at a rotational speed of 11,000 min -1 , the maximum torque of 10.2  Nm is at 8,500 min -1 achieved. The exhaust gas is processed by an uncontrolled catalytic converter in accordance with the Euro 2 standard . The rear wheel of the machine is driven by a chain drive with a 14-tooth pinion . The Shadow's tank holds 14.2 liters (including a 2 liter reserve). Depending on the driving style, up to 400 km can be covered.

The Honda Shadow VT 125 has an empty weight of 162 kg and a top speed according to the vehicle registration of 103 km / h.

According to the manufacturer's recommended retail price, the retail price for a current model without extras was € 4,290. As with any motorcycle, however, this price can also be increased significantly with accessories.
