history
The village was probably created by German settlers during the colonization of the border forests in the time of Ottokar I Přemysl . The first documentary mention of Hugova Kraš took place in 1291 as the property of the Ottmachau castellan , and proves the existence of the 10 Hufen village since 1266. Hugova Kraš has been a school seat since 1326. In the 15th century the place name changed to Hugova ves / Haugsdorf.
In 1580 the village consisted of 14 farmers, 6 of whom belonged to Schulzen, as well as a hereditary gardener and 9 other properties. At this time there was also a forge belonging to the city of Weidenau and a mill subordinate to the Schulzenhof. In addition, the seat of the episcopal forester responsible for the Černá Voda district was located in Haugsdorf . Haugsdorf was devastated in 1633 during the Thirty Years War. Until 1665 parts of the village were desolate.
Due to the division of Silesia in 1742, the border with Prussian Silesia was drawn north of the place , Haugsdorf remained in the Austrian part . In 1806 205 people lived in the 32 houses of the village.
After the abolition of patrimonial Haugsdorf formed its own community from 1850 and from 1869 a district of the community Großgrosse in the Freiwaldau district . Friedeberger granite was quarried in numerous quarries southeast of the village . In 1890 Haugsdorf consisted of 38 houses and had 258 German-speaking residents. There was a spirit distillery and liqueur factory, a mill, the dairy founded in 1872 and a saw in the village. 44.6 hectares of the land belonged to the owners of the Haugsdorf hereditary bailiwick, the Michler family.
With the construction of the railway from Niederlindewiese to Barzdorf in 1896, Haugsdorf received a railway connection and station. In 1897 the branching local railway line Haugsdorf - Weidenau was inaugurated, which was continued in 1912 by Neisser Kreisbahn AG in the German Reich to Neisse . In 1900 Haugsdorf consisted of 41 houses and had 260 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , Haugsdorf was added to the German Reich and belonged to the Freiwaldau district from 1939 to 1945 . After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled and the place was named Hukovice. In 1948 the dairy was shut down. At the beginning of 1961, Hukovice came to Okres Šumperk and in 1976 was incorporated into Vidnava together with Velká Kraš , where it lost its status as a district. The Hukovice train station was renamed "Velká Kraš" in 1978. Since 1990 Hukovice has belonged again to the Velká Kraš municipality and since the beginning of 1996 the place has been part of the Okres Jeseník .
