Hundsmühle (colloquially: Hundsmül ) is a district of the Heroldsberg market in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

location

The wasteland lies on the north bank of the Gründlach in the middle of the Kraftshofer forest , which is part of the Sebalder Reichswald . A community road leads to Heroldsberg (0.5 km east) or to another community road (1.5 km west), which runs to Buchenbühl (2 km south) or to Kalchreuth to state road 2243 (3.5 km north).

history

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1425 as "Heylosmüle". Like the 1429 mention as "Hersperger mul", the name is to be interpreted as a smooth form of Heroldsberger Mühle. In 1439 she was called "Herolczperger möl". The landlords were the Nuremberg patricians Geuder . From 1452 on, Hans Hunt sat on the mill, after whom it was named (first attested in 1463). The place was in the Fraisch district of the Nuremberg court Heroldsberg. The mill had a forest right in the Sebald Forest . In 1835, Wolfgang Hohlweg acquired the Hundesmühle (house no. 1) and a small estate (house no. 2). The mill was an inherited interest loan from the Geuder, the Gütlein an inherited interest loan from the Sebaldi forest office .

As part of the community edict (early 19th century) Hundsmühle was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Heroldsberg .

The Hundsmühle belonged to the Hohlweg family until 1974. It was then acquired by Paul Müller, show jumping and dressage rider and chairman of the Nuremberg Riding Club, and expanded into a riding facility with tournament operations. In 1982 the Nuremberg Riding Club moved its headquarters to the Hundsmühle.
