IC 1955 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Reticulum in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 539 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1960 and IC 1965 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 8, 1899 .
