IC 2086 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Dorado in the southern sky . It is estimated 559 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 65,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies IC 2079 , IC 2081 , IC 2082 , IC 2083 .

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 7, 1899 .
