IC 2082 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Dorado in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 544 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 210,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies IC 2079 , IC 2081 , IC 2083 , IC 2086 .

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 7, 1899 .
