IC 3346 is a dwarf elliptical galaxy in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 55 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 10,000 ly. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VCC 936 as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4429 , IC 3331 , IC 3356 , IC 3358 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
