IC 3355 is an irregular dwarf galaxy from the Hubble type in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 5 million light years from the Milky Way and about> 2,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VCC 945 as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
The galaxies NGC 4402 , NGC 4406 , NGC 4435 , NGC 4438 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Arnold Schwassmann on November 17, 1900 .
