IC 4045 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E4 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 311 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 ly in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the Coma galaxy cluster Abell 1656 .
The galaxies NGC 4907 , NGC 4908 , IC 4040 , IC 4051 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on April 12, 1891 by Guillaume Bigourdan .
