Igor Iljitsch Lyssy ( Russian Игорь Ильич Лысый , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Igor Lysyj ; born January 1, 1987 in Sverdlovsk ) is a Russian chess player .

Life

Igor Lyssy grew up in Nizhny Tagil and studied at the Gorky State University of the Urals in Yekaterinburg, the former Sverdlovsk. In 2012 he published a book about the Berlin defense together with Roman Ovetschkin, also from Nizhny Tagil : The Berlin Defense .

successes

For Russia he played at the U16 Olympics in Denizli in 2003 , where he received an individual silver medal for his result of six points from eight games on the reserve board. In the same year he won the Arctic Cup in Salekhard , another U-16 team tournament, on the top board of the selection of Sverdlovsk Oblast in front of the national team of the Netherlands. In 2007 he won the Young Masters tournament in Hengelo ahead of Arik Braun . At the Chess Classic 2007 in Mainz he won the award for the best U20 player. At the Rilton Cup 2009/10 Lyssy was tied with the winner Eduardas Rozentalis in Stockholm . In 2012 he won the Moscow Open with an Elo rating of 2847. In December 2014, he won the Russian individual championship in Kazan .

He took part in European Club Cups in 2010 for Sverdlovsk Oblast, in 2012 for economist SGSEU Saratov and in 2014 for the team Malachit Oblast Sverdlovsk , with which he came third. With the team from Saratov he took part in the 2012 World Cities Tournament in al-Ain and failed in the quarter-finals at the eventual winner from Hoogeveen . With Malachit Oblast Sverdlovsk he became Russian team champion in 2014 , before he had participated in this competition from 2003 to 2005, 2007 and 2008 with Politekhnik Nizhny Tagil and 2010 with Sverdlovsk Oblast , where he achieved the best individual result on the sixth board in 2003 and on the second reserve board in 2005 . In 2015, he played for the Hangzhou team in the Chinese team championship .

He took part in the World Chess Cup twice. In 2011 in Khanty-Mansiysk , he eliminated Mikhail Kobalija and Alexander Ivanov . In the third round he failed to Leinier Domínguez . In 2013 in Tromsø Lyssy defeated Andrei Istrățescu in the first round and lost 3-1 to Lewon Aronjan in the second .

Igor Lyssy received the title of International Master in August 2005. The norms for this he had achieved all between 2002 and 2004 at tournaments in Nizhny Tagil . He has been a grandmaster since June 2007, he achieved the required standards all in 2006 at tournaments in Nizhny Tagil, Tomsk and Saratov.
