Ippensen is a district of the city of Einbeck and is located northeast of the city center. The place has almost grown together with the neighboring village Garlebsen to the west . A few hundred meters northeast of the village the floodplain flows into the Leine .
history
The first mention of the place took place in 1338, at that time still under the name Ippenhusen . The change to the current place name took place a century later, in 1429, when the village first appeared in the sources under the name Yppensen . Ippensen was incorporated into the municipality of Kreiensen on March 1, 1974 . As part of this municipality, Ippensen became a town in the newly formed town of Einbeck on January 1, 2013.
politics
Ippensen has a joint local council with the districts of Garlebsen (to which it is geographically immediately adjacent) and Olxheim . The local mayor is Hans-Joerg Kelpe.
