Voldagsen is a village and northern district of the city of Einbeck in Lower Saxony , which is located close to the federal highway 3 .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1270 under the name Voltagessen . During the Seven Years' War a battle of retreat took place on the Voldagser Höhe, in the course of which the Hessian troops were defeated with great losses.

On January 28, 1946, Voldagsen's Great Mill was attacked by a gang of robbers, resulting in a triple murder. The perpetrators were displaced persons from Poland. The events were later heard by the British Higher Military Court in Braunschweig.

Voldagsen was incorporated on March 1, 1974 into the district of the city of Einbeck.
