Ivy van den Heuvel (born August 24, 1988 in 's-Hertogenbosch ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers since 2011 , with whom he has played in the Oberliga Nord in Germany since 2015 .

Career

Clubs

Van den Heuvel, who comes from the capital of the Dutch province of North Brabant , began his career as an ice hockey player in neighboring Tilburg with the Trappers there , for whom he made his debut in the Ehrendivision , the top Dutch league, at the age of 16 . In 2006 he celebrated his first national title with the Dutch Cup . He then moved for three years to league competitor Amstel Tijgers Amsterdam , with whom he was able to win the cup competition again in his first season there. In 2009 he moved back to the Eindhoven Kemphanen in North Brabant . After two years in Eindhoven , he moved back to his parent club, the Tilburg Trappers, with whom he won the national cup in 2013 and the championship and cup double in 2014 and 2015 . Since 2015 he has been playing with the Trappers in the German Oberliga Nord , which he won with the club in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

International

For the Netherlands, van den Heuvel took part in the Division II games of the U18 Junior World Championships in 2005 and 2006 . In 2006 he was able to shine with five goals in five games. He was then nominated in the same year for the Division II U20 Junior World Championship . Also in 2007 and 2008 he was on the ice at the U20 Junior World Championships.

He made his debut for the men's national team at the Division I World Cup in 2007 , but did not score there in five missions. He also played with his national team in Division I at the World Championships in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015. In 2013, he not only scored the winning goal in a 5-4 opening win against the relegated team six minutes before the end Estonia , but with nine points (two goals, seven assists) behind the two Ukrainians Oleh Tymtschenko and Oleh Schafarenko was also the third best scorer in Group B of Division I. At the 2018 World Cup , he played with the Dutch in Division II and was the top scorer and best assists also voted best striker of the tournament.

In addition, van den Heuvel also took part with the Dutch team in the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang , without the Dutch being able to qualify.
