Oleh Olexandrowytsch Tymtschenko ( Ukrainian Олег Олександрович Тимченко , Russian Олег Александрович Тимченко / Oleg Alexandrovich Timchenko * 27. April 1978 in Kharkiv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian hockey player who his greatest successes at Yunost Minsk in Belarusian Extraliga scored.

Career

Oleh Tymchenko, who comes from the youth department of Dinamo Kharkiv , began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian junior league Québec Major Junior Hockey League , in which he played from 1996 to 1999 for the Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda , who won him at the CHL Import Draft in 1996 first round as eighth player overall, and Drakkar de Baie-Comeau was active. The winger then spent two years in the East Coast Hockey League with the Greensboro Generals , Florida Everblades and New Orleans Brass . He then returned to his Ukrainian homeland, where he worked in the 2001/02 season for HC Donbass and in the 2002/03 season for Druzhba-78 Kharkiv aground in the Ukrainian Hockey League. In 2002 he was the best preparer and top scorer of the Ukrainian ice hockey league and one year later the top scorer. From 2003 to 2005 the left shooter was under contract with the Heerenveen Flyers in the Dutch Eredivisie . During this time he also played four games for HK Chimwolokno Mahiljou in the Belarusian extra league .

For the 2005/06 season Tymchenko was committed by Ritten Sport from the Italian A1 series . He then returned to Belarus, where he was on the ice for the HK Nyoman Hrodna , Chimik-SKA Nawapolazk , HK Homel and HK Junost Minsk for the next four years . With Junost Minsk, the national player became Belarusian champions in 2009 and 2010 , to which he made a significant contribution in 2009 as top scorer and in 2010 as top scorer. For the 2010/11 season he first signed a contract with the newly founded HK Budiwelnik Kiev from the Continental Hockey League . After he was unable to start playing in the KHL due to delays in the stadium renovation, he stayed with Junost Minsk and not only won the Belarusian championship again in 2010/11, but also the IIHF Continental Cup at European level . In 2014 he first moved to league competitor Metallurg Shlobin , but moved on to HK Shakhtsor Salihorsk in October of that year , where he contributed to winning the Belarusian title for the first time with eleven appearances. Then he ended his career.

International

For Ukraine , Tymchenko took part in the World Championships in the top division in 2004 and 2005 and in the World Championships in Division I in 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 and 2014 . At the 2011 World Cup, he was the top scorer of the tournament together with the Briton David Clarke . In 2013, when the Ukrainians achieved immediate promotion back to Group A of Division I, he was awarded five goals and five preparations not only as the best scorer, but also as the best striker.

Furthermore, he was in his country's squad for the qualifications for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
