J1 Cuenca
The J1 Cuenca (officially Mundial Juvenil de Tenis ) is a world junior tennis tournament that has been held by the International Tennis Federation since the end of January on a clay court in the Ecuadorian city of Cuenca . It belongs to the second highest tournament category G1.
history
In 1997, the Niolas Macchiavello Cup in tournament category G2, which had previously been held in Guayaquil and Quito, was held for the first time on the clay courts of the Cuenca Tenis Y Golf Club . After being renamed Copa Graiman in 2006, the 2012 tournament disappeared from the ITF's schedule. Other junior tennis tournaments in Ecuador took turns taking his place, most recently the Mundial Juvenil de Tenis, which was founded in Ibarra in 2016 and in tournament category G1, which was moved to Cuenca in 2018.
