Jade Galbraith (born March 2, 1982 in Hinton , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dundee Stars in the EIHL since the 2014/15 season .
Career
His first years
Jade Galbraith's first major station in ice hockey was the Drayton Valley Thunder club . In this he made his debut in the Alberta Junior Hockey League in the 1998/99 season . He was there on the ice for two seasons before joining the team at the University of Alaska Anchorage . For this, however, he only completed three games. The remainder of the 2000/01 season Galbraith spent in the Western Hockey League with the team of the Saskatoon Blades .
ECHL years
His next season (2002/03) he played in the ECHL with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies . With this club Galbraith won the Kelly Cup .
In the following season Galbraith played for four different clubs: His first stop was the Florence Pride . After four games in the Prides jersey, he moved to the Dayton Bombers . However, he left this after 16 games in the direction of the Cincinnati Cyclones . He supported the Cyclones storm for 24 games. His last stop in the 2003/04 season was the Pensacola Ice Pilots . For this he also denied the beginning of the 2004/05 season. This season, Galbraith was also on the ice for the Louisiana IceGators . For the 2005/06 season he moved to the San Diego Gulls , but after seven games he was back in the direction of Victoria Salmon Kings , for which Galbraith played the rest of the season.
Engagement in Germany
For the 2006/07 season Jade Galbraith moved to Germany in the major league for the 10-time German ice hockey champion SC Riessersee . At the end of that season, he was named the best winger. He was also the top scorer in the league with 45 goals. He was the Most Valuable Player (MVA) this season.
For the following season Galbraith moved to the German ice hockey league for EV Duisburg . However, the contract was dissolved after six league games. The reason for this was a request from the EHC Munich , which wanted to sign Galbraith. Galbraith then contacted the sporting director of EV Duisburg to comply with the request, as he promised more playing time in the 2nd Bundesliga , in which the EHC Munich played. Galbraith played 44 games in Munich and then played in the EIHL.
Time in the EIHL
Jade Galbraith completed five seasons in the Elite Ice Hockey League : the first three of them for the Nottingham Panthers , the other two for the Braehead Clan . In the 2009/10 season he won the EIHL Challenge Cup with the Nottingham Panthers. He also scored most of the season with 57 assists and was accepted into the EIHL All-Star First Team. He was able to achieve the Challenge Cup with the Panthers in the next 2010/11 season. Furthermore, the Nottingham Panthers won the league playoffs. He was again the player with the most assists, this time 65 and was part of the EIHL selection that faced the NHL team Boston Bruins .
In the 2011/12 season, in which he played his first season for Braehead Clan , Galbraith was reappointed to the EIHL All-Star First Team. He again scored the most assists, 63 in number and with 101 points scorer most of the season. He was then voted IHJUK-EIHL player of the year.
Change to the Netherlands and renewed commitment to EIHL
In the 2013/14 season Galbraith played for the Heerenveen Flyers in the Eredivisie , but moved back to the EIHL to the Dundee Stars for the following season .
ESBG Allstar Game
Jade Galbraith took part in the 2007 ESBG Allstar Game . At that time he was under contract with SC Riessersee. Like his teammate Mark McArthur, he was part of the United Nations squad due to his Canadian origins. At 150 km / h he was among the top 3 in the slap shot competition, but could not prevail in the decision-making round.
