history

Schönow was in the Duchy of Pomerania in the 15th century, handed down for 1494, a fief of the noble Billerbeck family . As a feudal bearer followed, first handed down for 1520, the noble family Runge . The last owner from the Runge family was Baltzer Dietrich Runge, who was mentioned in 1699 and was childless. Then Schönow was acquired by Georg Ehrenreich von Küssow († 1739), who was the landlord on the neighboring estates of Klücken and Kloxin . After his death, his two sons sold Schönow again in 1741.

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Schönow is listed among the noble estates of the Pyritz district . At that time there was a Vorwerk , so the estate farm, a sheep farm , a windmill, fourteen peasants, four Kossäten, a pitcher, a forge and a schoolmaster, a total of 55 households ( "fires"). The church was a branch church of the mother church in Deetz in the Neumark . At that time the owner of Schönow was Major General Karl Ludwig von Knobelsdorff .

At times, the estate consisted of two farms: it is not known when the Wilhelminenhof farm was built. The Vorwerk Schönmergel was laid out in 1827 by Friedrich Ludwig von Knobelsdorff about ¼ mile east of Schönow on the land of two former farms that had already been moved into the estate. Marl was given up in the 19th century.

The regulation of landlord and peasant conditions (see Prussian Agrarian Constitution ) in Schönow was carried out from 1822 to 1824. At that time there were still eleven farmers and four kossäts who ceded half of their land to the manor and also took on a pension, which was converted into pension letters after 1853. In 1835 Schönow was bought by Julius Rudolf von der Osten , who later became district administrator of the Pyritz district. After his death, his widow took over, then in 1865 his son Wilhelm von der Osten Schönow.

From the 19th century, the political estate district Schönow and the rural community Schönow coexisted. In 1910 the manor district of Schönow had 305 inhabitants and the rural community of Schönow 131 inhabitants. Later the manor district was incorporated into the rural community.

Until 1945 Schönow formed a rural community in the Pyritz district of the Prussian province of Pomerania . The Wilhelminenhof residential area also belonged to the rural community . In 1925 the municipality had 556 inhabitants in 106 households, in 1933 841 inhabitants and in 1939 863 inhabitants.

After the Second World War, Schönow, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The population was evicted and replaced by Poles . The place received the Polish place name "Jesionowo". Today it forms its own Schulzenamt in the Gmina Przelewice (Prillwitz municipality) .
