Joachim Cadenbach
Joachim Albrecht Cadenbach (born March 11, 1925 in Berlin , † April 12, 1992 in Izmir ) was a German actor , author , director , presenter and voice actor .
Life
After completing secondary school, Cadenbach attended the H. Bergmann drama school in Berlin from 1940 to 1941 . He received his first engagement in 1941 for a Wehrmacht tour. After guest appearances in Berlin and Frankfurt / Oder, Cadenbach went on tours between 1945 and 1949 with his own guest theater, Die Maske . He then played at various Berlin theaters (including the Hebbel Theater ).
In 1943 Cadenbach made his feature film debut. He played next to Carola Höhn in the comedy Leichtes Blut , in the disaster film Titanic and directed by Wolfgang Staudte in Madeleine and the Legionnaire . Nevertheless, he remained a rare guest as an actor in film and television. He appeared more often on television as a presenter . So he presented z. B. in the ARD the "Regionalumschau" magazine of the week as well as the fortnightly senior program Schaukelstuhl . In addition, from 1950 he worked extensively as a broadcaster for the RIAS , the SFB and the NWDR .
Cadenbach is also remembered by a wide audience for his voice. As a voice actor he loaned this u. a. internationally known fellow actors including Ernest Borgnine ( The Black Hole ), Peter Graves ( Cobra, Take Over ), Ian Holm ( Chariots of Fire ), Eli Wallach ( The Domino Plot ), Jack Warden ( Presidio , Heaven Shall Wait ) and Jim Davis as Jock Ewing on the Dallas TV series . In the role of Patriarch Jock , he also recorded the record Mein Dallas . In addition, he spoke the wise panther Baghira (originally Sebastian Cabot ) in the Disney adaptation of the jungle book .
Cadenbach also wrote detective novels and a Hans Albers biography.
Joachim Cadenbach died on April 12, 1992 at the age of 67 in a traffic accident in Izmir, Turkey . His grave is in the state's own cemetery in Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend (grave location: 10-284). The tombstone has the shape of an open book.
