Johann Christian Wilhelm Dahl
Johann Christian Wilhelm Dahl (born September 1, 1771 in Rostock ; † April 15, 1810 there ) was a German classical philologist .
Life
From 1788 to 1792 he studied classical philology, history, mathematics, oriental studies and theology in Rostock; from 1792 he studied theology at the University of Jena , from 1793 at the University of Göttingen and from 1794 at the University of Rostock. From 1795 to 1797 he was a private tutor in Güstrow . On April 11, 1798 he received his master's degree in Rostock ; then he taught profane philology as a private lecturer at the University of Rostock until 1802 . From 1802 to 1810 he was council professor of the Greek language, from 1803 council professor of morals and from 1804 ducal professor of theology at the University of Rostock. On February 6, 1807 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol.
