Johann Friedrich von Brehmer

Johann Friedrich von Brehmer (* October 1737 in Weißenfels an der Saale , † February 27, 1802 in Hamm ) was a Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 9 .

Life

Johann Friedrich was the son of Gustav Leberecht von Brehmer, ducal Saxon stable master , and his wife Johanne Philippine von Stahr.

Military career

In 1755, Brehmer therefore initially served as a cadet in the “Prince Friedrich” regiment. During the Seven Years' War he was taken prisoner on November 15, 1756 when the Saxon troops surrendered near Pirna and changed to Prussian services .

He was wounded in the Battle of Roßbach and injured in his right arm and foot in the Battle of Liegnitz . Brehmer took part in the battles of Farbezin in Pomerania and Nickelsberg in Bohemia . He was also at the sieges of Prague , Neisse , Dresden and Schweidnitz . At that time he was in the infantry regiment "Prince Ferdinand" No. 34 on August 2, 1758 Second Lieutenant and on January 28, 1763 Prime Lieutenant . After the war, the carriage was followed on 7 January 1772 to staff captain in 1772, and on June 22, Captain . At the same time Brehmer was appointed company commander. In September 1672 he took part in the great autumn maneuvers near Potsdam . On July 25, 1773, he was given four weeks' leave to check on the Freienwald estate. He was then promoted to major general on June 4, 1798.

Brehmer married Maria Eleonore Rosine Sophie von Kaphengst on June 6, 1777 in Meseburg (* September 8, 1745, † January 10, 1820 in Radensleben ). She was the daughter of the captain a. D. and hereditary lords of Bruch and Molwitz, Christian Albrecht von Kaphengst (born November 29, 1704; † November 15, 1773) and his wife Henriette Dorothea von Rochow (born July 28, 1718; † June 8, 1783) from the Plessow family . The couple had the following children:
