Johann Siegmund Freiherr von Heyden (* 1641 ; † October 26, 1724 ) was a Prussian general of the cavalry , governor of Lippstadt and Drost zu Wetter . Furthermore, heir to Bruch , Rhade , Lichtenwörde, Oedendael, Cliff and Crudenburg .

Life

origin

Johann Siegmund was the son of the Cleve-Mark government councilor Friedrich von Heiden and his wife Katharina, née von Wylich and Lottum . He is not to be confused with Johann Sigismund von der Heyden . The general of the infantry Friedrich von Heyden was his brother.

Career

Heyden became a colonel and commander of the “von Spaen” regiment on July 2, 1682 . In 1690 he rose to major general of the cavalry and in 1693 became chief of the regiment with which Heyden was in Dutch service in 1694 . It was dissolved in 1715 and its members distributed. In the meantime he was promoted to general of the cavalry until January 5, 1704.

In 1685 he bought the glory of Crudenburg. From 1688 he was court master of Prince Albrecht Friedrich von Brandenburg . He also became governor of Lippstadt and Drost zu Wetter . In 1716 Heyden bought the Schwarzenstein house for 11,000 thalers .

family

Heyden was married twice. He married his first wife Anna Luise Quadt von Landskron (April 30, 1659, † 1687) on March 29, 1676. The couple had three sons and two daughters.

His second wife was Countess Luise Charlotte von Schwerin (1672–1738) from the Alt-Landsberg house and daughter of Otto von Schwerin since 1691 . After his death she married Colonel Dyonisus Georg Joachim von Blankenburg , who died on September 30, 1745 in the Battle of Thrush .
