Johann Stieger

Johann Anton Valentin Stieger (born November 30, 1808 in Bozen , † January 21, 1884 in Klagenfurt ) was an Austrian lawyer, politician and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Johann Stieger studied philosophy and law in Innsbruck , Salzburg and Graz from 1826 to 1831 . In 1832 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD.

After completing his studies, he was initially a supplent in Innsbruck, and later a regional court counsel in Kitzbühel and Vöcklabruck . From 1841 he was court and court advocate in Klagenfurt and a member of the Carinthian Chamber of Lawyers, of which he later became 2nd President.

From May 18, 1848 to November 21, 1848 he was a non-attached member of the constituency 1. Carinthia (Klagenfurt) in the Frankfurt Paulskirche parliament. His successor was Joseph Löschnigg .

In June 1848 he was district attorney and later a member of the Supreme Court in Vienna . From 1876 until his death he was governor of Carinthia.
