Feed Her to the Sharks is a metalcore band from Melbourne , Victoria , Australia, founded in 2010 .
history
In 2010 singer Andrew Van Der Zalm, guitarists Kim Choo and Marinos Katsanevas, bassist Robert Davies and drummer Andrew Cotterell founded the band Feed Her to the Sharks in Melbourne, Australia . Appeared already in the first year with The Beauty of Falling the debut album of the band, which funded the musicians out of pocket.
In 2013 the second studio album, Savage Seas, followed , which was also produced and released without the support of a record company. The album was produced by Fredrik Nordström , who already worked for Bring Me the Horizon , Adept and I Killed the Prom Queen . The single Memory of You was presented in advance on the homepage of the US music magazine Revolver . On March 25, 2014, the band was signed by the US record company Victory Records . Work on the album, which was originally due to be released in autumn 2014, began in April. However, the release of the album, which is called Fortitude , has been postponed to February 15, 2015.
Since its inception, the group has made several concert tours through Australia , including as supporting act for artists such as Asking Alexandria , Born of Osiris , Suicide Silence , Fit for a King and Buried in Verona . In 2013 the group also played on the Warped Tour in Melbourne. Between May 4th and 22nd, 2015, the band can be seen on tour in Europe for the first time. The group plays with Aversions Crown and Earth Rot as opening act for Thy Art Is Murder . About a month later, the group will play on the Victory Stage at the Mayhem Festival with Whitechapel , Sworn In , Code Orange and Sister Sin . The band will be seen at all concerts in the United States and Canada .
style
Feed Her to the Sharks plays a modern and melodic variant of Metalcore , which is supported by a synthesizer . The screamings by Andrew Van Der Zalm on the album Savage Seas are reminiscent of Winston McCall on the first albums of Parkway Drive , while the clean vocals are comparable to the vocals of Ahren Stringer from The Amity Affliction . Timon Krause describes the existing Deathcore bonds as comparable to The Black Dahlia Murder and Emmure . By inserting electronic music passages through the use of a synthesizer, a comparison with The Browning or Shoot the Girl First is also possible.
