Johannes Fink (born February 28, 1964 in Erlangen ) is a German jazz bassist, cellist and composer.

Live and act

Johannes Fink comes from a family of musicians; his grandfather, Johann Fink, was an organist and choirmaster; his father, Thomas Fink is a jazz pianist.
Before he switched to double bass autodidactically at the age of 24 , he learned the instruments piano , drums and guitar from the age of 5 . At the age of 27 he studied double bass for about 10 weeks at the Musikhochschule Würzburg , where he took cello as a minor and was taught by a pupil of Pablo Casals .

When he moved to Berlin in 1996 he became a member of Aki Takase (& the good boys), Erdmann 3000 (with Daniel Erdmann , Frank Möbus , John Schröder ), Plastiline Black Sheep (with Adam Pierończyk , Maurice de Martin ), group of four Gschlössl (with Gerhard Gschlößl , Rudi Mahall , Christian Lillinger ) and played worldwide for the Goethe-Institut with his newly founded band 'Günter Adler' (with Rudi Mahall, Daniel Erdmann, Heinrich Köbberling ). After working with musicians like Lee Konitz , Alexander von Schlippenbach , Tim Berne , Kurt Rosenwinkel , Joachim Kühn , Yves Robert , Michael Wollny , Marc Ducret , Herb Robertson , Louis Sclavis and others. v. a. Played live concerts, he became a member of Rolf Kühn (with Ronny Graupe , Christian Lillinger) and Heinz Sauer / D.Erdmann (with Christophe Marguet ). In 2015 he founded the Super Royal group (with Eric Schaefer ) together with Daniel Erdmann . He then worked as a cellist with Reich through Jazz (R.Mahall, G.Gschlößl, Jan Roder , Michael Griener ) and forward-backward (G.Gschlößl, Maike Hilbig ). He had his cello converted into a 5-string with the HEADG tuning.
