Johannes Franziskus Klomp
Johannes Franz (Iskus) Klomp (born February 7, 1865 in The Hague ; † February 14, 1946 in Kamp-Bornhofen ) was a German architect of Dutch origin. He worked mainly in Germany.
Life
Klomp studied at the Technical University of Hanover , among others with the neo-Gothic Conrad Wilhelm Hase and Hubert Stier . In 1887 he completed his studies with a "diploma task" , later he signed his plans first with the job title "Diplom-Architekt" , then with the abbreviation "Dipl.-Ing." , The official abbreviation for the in Prussia The degree of graduate engineer introduced in 1900 .
After graduation, he went on a study trip to Italy to expand his knowledge. Back in Hanover as an employee of Christoph Hehl , after his move to Berlin in 1894, he built his self-designed house at Linzer Strasse 6 in order to move to Dortmund in 1899.
He was a representative of late historicism and built mainly sacred buildings for Catholic institutions and communities. In addition to his main office in Dortmund, around 1910 he had two branch offices in Beuthen and Kattowitz in Upper Silesia.
At the turn of the century, he set decisive accents for church building in the Rhineland, Westphalia and the Belgian region with his building design.
