In summer 2008 he moved to the D-Juniors of TSG Wieseck , where he went through the youth teams up to U-17 and was also appointed to the squad of the Hessen team (C and B juniors). After the second team from RB Leipzig had been canceled from play, Strauss moved to the second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue for the 2017/18 season , with whom he received a contract until June 30, 2020. There he made his professional debut in the 1-1 draw against Eintracht Braunschweig on August 18, 2017, the 3rd matchday of the 2017/18 season, when he came on for Sören Bertram in the 87th minute .
