Calogero Rizzuto (born January 5, 1992 in Saarbrücken ) is a football player with German and Italian citizenship. He has been under contract with FC Erzgebirge Aue since summer 2015 and is mostly used as a right full-back.

Career

2011–2015: 1. FC Kaiserslautern II

Before his promotion to the second team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2011/12 season, Calogero Rizutto went through the youth departments of the Lauterer. He made his debut for the reserves in Regionalliga West on August 6, 2011. In the 2-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund's reserves , Rizutto was substituted on for Benjamin Himmel by coach Alois Schwartz in the 66th minute.

Due to the reform of the Regionalliga, his team played in the new Regionalliga Südwest from the 2012/13 season . Calogero Rizutto made his debut in the new league on August 5, 2012 in a 3-0 win over the reserves from FSV Frankfurt . In the goalless draw against SC Pfullendorf on May 4, 2016, he completed his 50th league game for the Lautern reserve. On August 30, 2014, he played his 50th game in the Regionalliga Südwest in a 4-0 win against SVN Zweibrücken .

Since 2015: FC Erzgebirge Aue

For the 2015/16 season , Calogero Rizzuto moved to the then relegated second division FC Erzgebirge Aue and received a two-year contract. He made his debut for the Auer in the 3rd division and thus his professional debut on July 25, 2016 in a goalless draw against VfL Osnabrück . With his new team, Rizutto was able to achieve second place in the league in the first season and thus celebrate promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . He also won the Saxony Cup with FC Erzgebirge Aue with a 1-0 win against FSV Zwickau , in which he was not used.

On August 7, 2016, the first matchday of the 2016/17 season , Rizutto made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Heidenheim . He scored his first second division goal on April 5, 2017 in the An der Alten Försterei stadium , with which he sealed Aue's 1-0 away win at 1. FC Union Berlin .
