Malcolm Cacutalua (born November 15, 1994 in Troisdorf ) is a German football player . The central defender is under contract with second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue .

Career

societies

Cacutalua, the son of an Angolan father and a German mother, began playing football at SpVgg Lülsdorf-Ranzel in Niederkassel . He also played in the youth departments of the SpVg. Porz , FC Hennef 05 and Bonner SC , before joining 1. FC Köln in 2006 . There he was retired in 2009 and moved to Sportfreunde Troisdorf in his hometown . After a year at SV Bergisch Gladbach 09 , Cacutalua moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen's youth department . On July 28, 2013 he made his debut for the second team in the 1-1 draw against SV Lippstadt 08 in the Regionalliga West . On October 30, 2013, he scored his first goal in a 4-0 win at SC Wiedenbrück .

After the 2013/14 season , the club announced its second team. Already in April 2014, Cacutalua's change on loan for the 2014/15 season to the 2nd Bundesliga to SpVgg Greuther Fürth was confirmed. There he was only used once in the DFB Cup and in the second team in the Regionalliga Bayern . At the end of August 2014, the loan was ended in the same transfer period and Cacutalua was loaned to VfL Bochum for two years within the 2nd Bundesliga . On September 12, 2014, he played his first game in the 2nd Bundesliga against Karlsruher SC .

In July 2016, Cacutalua returned to Leverkusen - with a remaining contract until 2018 - and started preparing for the summer with Roger Schmidt's team . At the beginning of August 2016, he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga to Arminia Bielefeld , where he received a two-year contract. In the 2016/17 season , Cacutalua made twelve appearances in the second division, in which he scored one goal. He also came to two missions in the second team in the fifth-class Oberliga Westfalen .

For the 2017/18 season , Cacutalua moved to league rivals FC Erzgebirge Aue , with whom he received a two-year contract until June 30, 2019. On March 9, 2019, Cacutalua tore a cruciate ligament and a tear in the outer meniscus in the game against SC Paderborn 07 . He was out for the remainder of the 2018/19 season .

National team

Cacutalua made his debut for the German U20 team on September 6, 2013 in a 2-0 win against Poland . On March 5, 2014, he scored his first goal to make it 3-2 against Switzerland .

In October 2015, Cacutalua was nominated by coach Horst Hrubesch for the first time for the U21 national team after the failures of Jonathan Tah and Niklas Stark and then made his debut in the 6-0 away win against the Faroe Islands .
