Jota , real name João Pedro Neves Filipe and also led as João Filipe (born March 30, 1999 in Lisbon ), is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Jota has played for the Benfica Lisbon youth team since 2007 . On January 23, 2017, he made his debut for the club's B team in the Segunda League . He played his first game for the professional team in the 3-0 cup win at third division club FC Sertanense . At the beginning of February 2019, he was appointed to the first team squad. On February 24, 2019, he made his debut in the Primeira Liga as part of a 4-0 win against GD Chaves .

In the national team

Jota went through the Portuguese youth national teams. He won the U17 European Championship in 2016 with the U17 team and the U19 European Championship 2018 with the U19 national team . In the latter he was top scorer with five tournament goals.
