Jardel (born March 29, 1986 in Florianópolis , Brazil ; full name Jardel Nivaldo Vieira ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

Jardel played at Avaí FC in his youth and began his professional career there in 2004. He then worked for EC Vitória in 2005 and for FC Santos in 2006 . Jardel then signed a contract with the Iraty Sport Club . In July 2007 he returned to Avaí FC on loan. After Iraty Jardel had loaned Joinville EC at the beginning of 2008 , he signed a contract with Desportivo Brasil in October 2008 . From there he was loaned to Ituano FC in the spring of 2009 . For the 2009/10 season Desportivo Brasil loaned Jardel to Europe to GD Estoril Praia . In 2010 he signed with SC Olhanense .

In January 2011, Jardel signed a contract with Benfica Lisbon until the end of the 2015/16 season . In the service of the Portuguese record champions, he played a total of 18 league games and 4 UEFA Champions League games until the end of the 2011/12 season . Despite the numerous appearances, he started the 2012/13 season only with the second team of Benfica Lisbon, but defender Luisão of the first team was suspended by the Portuguese Football Association for two months, after which Jardel took over his position for the time being. Teammate Ezequiel Garay left the team for the 2014/15 season , whereupon Jardel was able to secure a permanent place in the starting line-up.
