Alejandro "Álex" Grimaldo García (born September 20, 1995 in Valencia ) is a Spanish football player . The left full- back has been playing for Benfica Lisbon since 2016 .

Career

Grimaldo began his career in the youth of Valencia CF and joined the youth department of FC Barcelona in 2008 . In the 2011/12 season he was officially in the A-youth squad.

He made his debut for FC Barcelona B on September 4, 2011 at the age of 15 . In this game in the second Spanish professional league , his team won 4-0 against FC Cartagena . He is the youngest player in the team's history and set the record for Haruna Babangida , who played his first game for the B team at the age of 16.

In the Segunda División 2012/13 he was one of the most frequently used players of his team until his knee injury on matchday 27 (24 missions).
