JuWi festival

The JuWi-Fest is a one-day music festival planned and carried out by students from the law and economics faculties of the Westphalian Wilhelms University . The motto is "From students for students".

history

In 1975 the festival took place for the first time as a campus summer party. Since then, the venue has been the Juridicum in Münster , the festival usually takes place on a Thursday in June. In 2008 around 6,000 visitors were counted. The concept of the festival is to hold an event that is as inexpensive as possible for students, but also to attract non- student audiences with well-known headliners .

At the beginning of 2009, the organizers from the Jura and WiWi student councils decided to convert the previous JuWi-Fest GbR into a GmbH in order to secure the festival for future generations. It is the largest open-air music festival organized by students in North Rhine-Westphalia .

At the JuWi festival, up to ten bands now play on two stages in the courtyard of the Juridicum and on the Aawiesen ; the focus is on a mix of rock music and electronic music. Headliners of the past years were among others:
