Judith Al Bakri (* 1969 in Munich ) is a German film and theater actress .

Life

Judith Al Bakri grew up in Germany and Switzerland and completed her acting studies from 1991 to 1995 at the Bern University of the Arts .

Even during her studies she appeared at the Stadttheater Bern and was seen in productions and performances in the independent Swiss theater scene. She had her first engagement after studying at the State Theater in Karlsruhe until 1997. This was followed by guest appearances at the Münchner Kammerspiele , the Wiener Schauspielhaus and the Schauspiel Frankfurt . In 2003/2004 she completed the advanced training seminar for scriptwriters in the script workshop in Munich of the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF Munich). Together with her fellow actor Jochen Strodthoff , she founded the performance group “ Hunger & Silk ” in Munich in 2006 , which is active throughout Germany.

In addition to the theater, Al Bakri also plays in cinema and television productions. She had her first supporting roles in the film industry in Marco Serafini's television films The Heart of the Priest (2000) and He or None (2003), in 2003 as the mother of Julis and Joschka in Joachim Masannek 's children's film Die wilden Kerle . In 2007 she starred in Mara Eibl-Eibesfeldt's short film Tohuwabohu . In 2008 she had a leading role in Werner Fritsch 's film Ich wie ein Vogel - Das Rad des Glücks . In addition to several television roles, she also had the lead role in 2010 as "Judith" in Alexander Riedel's Morgen dem Leben , who made it into the shortlist for the 2012 German Film Prize .

She lives with Jochen Strodthoff in the Isarvorstadt district of Munich .
