Köbbelitz is a residential area of Kusey , a district of the town of Klötze in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

Köbbelitz, one Altmark Roundabout village with a church, located in the north of the district Kusey, about six kilometers southwest of blocks and to the north of the nature park Drömling and EU bird sanctuary "Feldflur at Kusey". The Köbberlitzer Graben flows to the south of the residential area.

history

The first mention of the village comes from the year 1357 as Köbbelitz, when von Bartensleben left uplifts from various villages to Margrave Ludwig the Roman . Further mentions are 1420 kobelitz , 1473 kebbelitz , 1541 Kopelitz , 1551 Kobbelitz , 1608 Koblitz , 1687 Kobbelitz and 1804 again Köbbelitz .

To specify In Cobbelici in a register from the year 1053 over possessions of the monastery Corvey in Altmark has historian Peter P. Rohrlach out that it is a fake. Wilhelm Spancken had already discovered in 1861 why the alleged copy of the register of Abbot Saracho von Corvey by Johann Friedrich Falke was a forgery.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Köbbelitz from the district of Salzwedel was incorporated into the municipality of Kusey in the district of Gardelegen . Köbbelitz thus became a residential area for Kusey, but not a district.

The Protestant parish of Köbbelitz originally belonged to the parish Immekath and came to Kusey in 1954, which became a parish at the same time as the parishes of Köbbelitz, Neuferchau, Röwitz and Wenze. Today the parishes belong to the parish Steimke-Kusey in the parish of Salzwedel in the provost district of Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

church

The Protestant village church in Köbbelitz is a neo-Romanesque brick building from the early 20th century. Inside there is a large carved altar from the 16th century.
