The KSPO Dome (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena ( Hangeul : 올림픽 공원 체조 경기장, Hanja : 奧林匹克 體操 競技場)) is a multi-purpose hall in the southeastern Songpa-gu district of the South Korean capital, Seoul . The hall is located in the Olympic Park Seoul and was the venue for the Olympic gymnastics competitions in 1988 .

History and use

The foundation stone was laid on August 31, 1984. The hall was opened on April 30, 1986. It was designed by the architect Kim Swoo-geun (Space Group of Korea) and is used for sports and concert events alike. In the hall, which offers 15,000 seats, internationally successful artists such as Eric Clapton , Elton John and Billy Joel also performed . In 2018 the hall was extensively rebuilt, among other things the conditions for concerts were improved and the facade was redesigned.
