After the fall of the Wall in the GDR , the cooperative plant production department was formed from the LPG . The agricultural land was returned to its owners and leased by them.

On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Guben . On July 25, 1952, Kaltenborn was assigned to the newly formed Guben district in the Cottbus district . After the reunification , the village was initially in the district of Guben and was assigned to the district of Spree-Neisse with the Brandenburg district reform of December 6, 1993 .
