The canton of Vaison-la-Romaine is a French administrative unit of the department Vaucluse in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . Its main town is Vaison-la-Romaine and in 2015 it was expanded from 13 to 29 municipalities as part of a nationwide reorganization of the cantons .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in 2015, the canton Vaison-la-Romaine consisted of the following 13 municipalities: Buisson , Cairanne , Crestet , Faucon , Puyméras , Rasteau , Roaix , Saint-Marcellin-lès-Vaison , Saint-Romain-en-Viennois , Saint-Roman-de-Malegarde , Séguret , Vaison-la-Romaine and Villedieu . Its layout corresponded to an area of 171.54 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8421.
