Karin Schlemmer
Karin Schlemmer (* 1921 ; † 1981 ) was a German actress and radio play speaker .
Life
As the daughter of the painter and sculptor Oskar Schlemmer and his wife Helena Tutein, Karin Schlemmer first grew up in Dessau. The family moved to Breslau in 1929 and to Berlin in 1932 for professional reasons. After Oskar Schlemmer's resignation from the United Art Schools in Berlin in May 1933, the family lived in Dettighofen-Eichberg near the Swiss border, in 1937 they came to Sehringen and in 1940 finally to Wuppertal. After finishing school, Schlemmer took dance lessons and performed in Freiburg and Strasbourg. In the 1940s she came to Stuttgart, where the actor and director Fred Schroer discovered her acting talent. In 1949 she took up an engagement at the State Theater in Stuttgart , to which she belonged until her death.
Karin Schlemmer played roles in Samuel Beckett's Endgame , in Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind , in Herbert Achternbusch's Ella and in Mother Courage and Her Children by Bertolt Brecht . She was also known for her parodies of Elvis Presley .
In addition, Schlemmer worked extensively in front of the camera and as a radio play speaker. It had its screen debut in 1954, from 1960 it was seen in numerous television films and in series such as The strange methods of Franz Josef Wanninger and Gesucht is… . In 1972 she starred in two episodes of Loriot's cartoon , in 1978 in the crime scene episode Red - Red - Dead . Since 1947 she has appeared on the radio in over 150 productions of the Süddeutscher Rundfunk , including in F sharp with overtones and pewter cries by Günter Eich and Herkules and the Stable of Augias by Friedrich Dürrenmatt .
Karin Schlemmer was married to the director Erich-Fritz Brücklmeier (1907–1960), a brother of the lawyer and diplomat Eduard Brücklmeier , until his death . Her daughter Janine, born in 1964, came from a connection with an actor who was still young at the time. Schlemmer died in 1981, the funeral speech was given by her colleague Wolfgang Höper .
