Katharina Laß (born January 7, 1983 in Kiel ) is a German presenter , singer , speaker and copywriter . She is also known under the name Kaya Laß .

Live and act

After dropping out of her acting studies in Kiel, she began her traineeship at the north German youth broadcaster delta radio in 2002 and moderated the morning show at the same time . The broadcaster became aware of her after she took second place behind Janin Ullmann in the moderation casting You Can Make It Always on the music television broadcaster VIVA . She moderated the morning show on delta radio under the name Kaos Kaya with Alexander Rudzinski , Danny Peters and Torsten Creutzburg.

In 2009 she switched to the youth wave of Hessischer Rundfunk , You FM , in Frankfurt am Main . There she was the music editor and presenter of her own program YOU FM Sounds with Kaya , in which she mainly introduced new music to the listeners. Here she met the Frankfurt music producer , rapper and founder of the 3P label , Moses Pelham , who a short time later hired her as the background singer for his band Glashaus .

In July 2012 she accepted an offer from the Hamburg radio station alsterradio , but left the station a year later. Since mid-August 2016, Kaya Laß has been moderating the morning at Antenne Niedersachsen in Hanover with her program “Kaya Laß while you work”. She has been working there since 2013 with breaks. Before that, she hosted the afternoon program Von 2 bis frei with Kaya and Flüecki with Stefan Flüeck at Antenne Niedersachsen .

In the meantime, Kaya Laß could be heard in the morning program from the Verkehrszentrum Rotherbaum on NDR 90.3 alongside the moderators Stephan Hensel and Ulf Ansorge and also regularly moderated the NDR1 night from the Landesfunkhaus in Hamburg.

Outside of the studio , Kaya co-hosted the Celle Stallion Parade for Antenne Niedersachsen in 2013, 2014 and 2016 . As a singer she was on stage with The Weather Girls , One Fine Day in the opening act of Udo Lindenberg (2004), Johannes Oerding and for numerous gigs with the Antenne-Niedersachsen-Band . During the soccer World Cup in 2014 , her World Cup song Schwarz-Rot-Gold achieved a high level of virality . She rewrote the song Breathless Through the Night by Helene Fischer to match the World Cup, but the record company prohibited it from being played on the radio . She also works as a speaker for radio plays . On January 10, 2016, Kaya Laß took over the guest moderation alongside Michael Thürnau in the NDR show Bingo! .

Since April 2020, Laß has been moderating various programs on the radio station NDR 1 Welle Nord in Kiel .
